Poppy Day: Only when they go, Backs are turned whispers are felt, We then remember.
Back-in-the Day: I once gave ABBA a Fairlight demo, at the time they were working on 'Chess', but the screen refresh after non 4 / 4 bars was too slow for them :-(
Now post-SABR cancer treatment, it feels like a good time to release some soundtrack albums. Both new and old, some are still being broadcast and other ones ended up on the cutting room floor(!) or I have just written for my own entertainment: 'OUT of LONDON 00', 'OUT of the SHADOW 01 &02', 'OUT of SELF 03' and 'OUT of YOU 04' are narratives and already on YouTube. During this process I also collected together five selections of BBC / Signature Tunes out of a total of 137!

Born in Uganda, East Africa then ended up at Marlborough College. BA Hons degree aged 20 from Bath University in Music Composition with Drama, a half-completed Masters Mmus at Bristol University in 'Advance Orchestration and Musical Analysis'. Fairlight CMI (Computer Musical Instrument) demonstrator, trainer and software Beta Tester for Peter Gabriel's 'Syco Systems'. Then directly for Kim Ryrie (co-inventor of digital sampling and onscreen music sequencing based out of Sydney). A chance meeting with two inspiring graphic designers in the BBC Television Centre Bar led to becoming the 'in-house' composer for the daily BBC2 'The Late Show'. During the HIV / AIDS pandemic moved from London and set up camp at Real World Studios. By some miracle roger survived living in the war zone in Northern Uganda 2004 - 2009 using music and other therapies, including a return to school program for some formerly abducted child soldiers, who were victims of the Lords' Resistance Army. Using music, in various shapes and forms, has enabled collaborating in 23 countries, so far!
A minor 'claim to fame' is writing, scoring, conducting and mixing the first full string session at Real World Studios for a BBC TV documentary to celebrate 25 years of the Natural World. Other orchestras that roger has worked with including: City of Prague Orchestra, the BBC Concert Orchestra, the London Metropolitan Orchestra, the Bratislava Radio Symphony Orchestra, Bristol and Bath Symphony Orchestras, the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, the Finchley Children's Choir (dir Christopher Austin), the Choir of Marlborough College (dir Robin Nelson) and, arguably, 'Jayac' from Ecuador, plus numerous rock / pop bands :-)
As a session Fairlight Series IIx and III CMI programmer, classically-trained pianist, Grade 8 Church organ, on violin / viola, drums and vocals, roger has worked with an exciting range of genres and World musicians, both well-known, as well as up-and-coming artists. Please use email if you wish to collaborate and drop us a line or send a WeTransfer. Merci. Apwoyo ma tek :-)
